Podcasts have been around since the early 2000s, when radio and the Apple iPod evolved into the portable, diverse programs we know today. As someone who began his career in radio, I've always loved the platform's intimacy and the idea that audio forces you to use your imagination.
Now, podcasts embrace video. While millions of fans listen to traditional podcasts on their devices, in their cars and at home, millions also watch them on video. I was a reluctant convert myself when I interviewed my first artist. How can you chat with an artist without showing their art? So now, I'm one of those split-screen human avatars interviewing my split-screen guests.
I don't regret it, but I do get weary of anything that follows a formula. This podcast does that, yes, and you can decide for yourself whether you want to play. Until something better comes along, this is it, folks.
As artificial intelligence invades more of our lives, will there come a day when both the interviewer and the interviewee are A.I.-generated? Maybe it's already here. But not on Type. Tune. Tint.
